Course on International Accounting of Insurance Companies at Salzburg University

The course is taking place at Salzburg University in from 11th to 14th April 2012.

The course aims to impart an understanding of the financial statements of an insurance company as well as of the consolidated financial statements of insurance groups, set up in accordance with IAS (International Accounting Standards) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Emphasis will be placed on the impact of the financial markets and the transactions of the company on its financial position, whereupon the differences between national accounting principles and international standards will be discussed.

CEIOPS GC QIS5 practical workshop – 25/26 August – Frankfurt

QIS5 Workshop is being organised jointly by CEIOPS and the Groupe Consultatif. The Workshop will provide hands-on practical guidance on interpreting the substantial QIS5 technical specification in order to calculate reliable values of technical provisions and of the standard formula SCR.

Salzburg Institute of Actuarial Studies (SIAS) is pleased to announce the addition of a new course to our programme. The course “Fundamentals of Investing” is taking place at Salzburg University from Wednesday, 7th to Saturday 10th April 2010.

The course is designed to give a better understanding of investing and is suitable not only for persons who want to qualify as actuaries but also for experienced practitioners.

Poziv - seminar Solvency II, 19th November in Zagreb

Croatian Actuarial Association (CAA) in cooperation with Institute for Insurance is organising seminar “Solvency II” on Thursday 19th November in Zagreb.

Seminar is aimed at insurance sector management and professionals and is designed for employees in insurance companies from the whole CEE region.

Lecturers will be Michael Kluettgens and Daniel Matic from consulting company Towers Perrin – Cologne, Germany. Seminar will be held in English. Details of the courses can be found here
